ROUND THE TREE - Friday 7th May 2010

Our oldest race held on the Friday before the May Bank Holiday as part of Torrington's historical May Day celebrations.
The race is only 2.8 miles but takes advantage of Torrington's hilly position, racing around the town, down to Taddiport, around a tree, along the River Torridge to then climb the steep ascent back into town through Torrington Pannier Market.  Registration takes place in the main high street.  Races usually start at 7.00pm.  Please check current entry form and poster for more details.

Our Round The Tree 2010 race on 7th May had a good atmosphere, with many fancy dressers from the Wizard of Oz, to a giant Maypole with dancers, some pink tutus and army cadets running in full back-packs. We were up on numbers from last year, and the first man in clocked an exceptionally fast time, so all in all a great success.
